White Turf 2017.

Every year the frozen Lake St. Moritz provides the setting for a highly unusual horse racing event. The program includes disciplines that certainly can’t be seen in the summer.


Engadine Ski Marathon.

On the trail, get set, go - welcome to the 49th Engadine Ski Marathon. On March 12th 2017, cross-country skiing fans will once again have the opportunity to beat their own personal record on the 42-kilometre trail from Maloja via St. Moritz to S-chanf, accompanied by the cheers of enthusiastic spectators lining the breathtaking route.


Hotel Suvretta House*****.

Crystal Hotel****S.

Centrally located in the heart of St. Moritz, and only a few steps away from the valley station of the Chantarella funicular, is where you will find the 4-star superior Hotel Crystal. One outstanding feature is its Italian restaurant, the 'Grissini', awarded 14 points by Gault Millau in 2014.


Nira Alpina****S.

A newcomer in Surlej, located at an altitude of 1,870 metres and only five minutes away from St. Moritz, this hotel features a cosy, modern design, light Asian cuisine, a wonderful view, and its own entrance to the Corvatsch cable car. Perfect for skiers and sports fans.


Giardino Mountain*****.

The former Hotel Chesa Guardalej has been completely rebuilt as the five-star Hotel Giardino Mountain. The relaxed sense of luxury merges perfectly with casual Alpine chic. Gourmet guests will enjoy the dishes of the most highly decorated chef in Switzerland.


Hotel Walther****S.

The Hotel Walther in Pontresina, not far from St. Moritz, offers inspiring views across the Engadine mountains. A member of the Relais & Châteaux group, it also has a Gault Millau rated restaurant, spacious spa facilities, and twice-weekly author's readings to offer.


Hotel Saratz****S.

The Saratz is steeped in history. Once upon a time, during the Belle Époque, this was Pontresina's grandest hotel. Now the four star superior hotel, which still belongs to the Saratz family, the 'true founders' of Pontresina, has been given a contemporary make-over in the course of a complete refurbishment, whilst still retaining a touch of Art Nouveau glamour.

Badrutt’s Palace Hotel is not just a top class hotel, it is also something of a St. Moritz institution. Anyone wanting to experience what it is like to be a perfectly pampered hotel guest can do so here.


Hotel Carlton*****S.

Luxury is traditional here - although it has been given a new, contemporary touch. There are suites only, plus excellent restaurants and a generously designed spa area.


Alpina Lodge.

The popular meeting point for skiers on the Corviglia. The food is good and the service is quick. The central attraction, however, is the terrace with the Snow Bar and the guaranteed good atmosphere. A BMW xDrive vehicle is also exhibited in front of the lodge.


La Marmite on the Corviglia.

St. Moritz top chef Reto Mathis' gourmet restaurant 'La Marmite' can be found at a height of 2,486 altitude metres, in the mountain station of the local 'Hausberg', the Corviglia. It generally counts as the 'highest' place a European gourmet can visit!


Talvò by Dalsass.

In December 2011, the Michelin star chef, Martin Dalsass, took over the Gourmet-Tempel Talvò in Champfèr near St. Moritz. Gourmets already know that he cooks at exactly the same level as his predecessor.



A most renowned restaurant chain has now opened a branch in St. Moritz. The Nobu celebrates Noboyuki Matushisa's Japanese-Peruvian cuisine.

Snow and Sunshine.

Skiers have 350 kilometres of surrounding ski slopes to choose from in St. Moritz. Not counting the neighbouring skiing areas in the Upper Engadin. The lifts go up to a height of 3,303 metres, a virtual guarantee that there will be snow - and plenty of sunshine!

Insider Tipps

Ice Channel Thrills.

St. Moritz has a famous bobsleigh run. It is the only natural one in the world, still fashioned from ice from a lake. It is not just the natural habitat of bobsleighs and toboggans, Cresta sledges are also at home here – or the exhilarating run down into the valley is made on ice skates. Excitement and thrills always guaranteed.
