The base station of the Gschwandtkopf lifts in Seefeld is where the pupils of the official BMW partner, the Sport Aktiv Ski & Snowboard School, meet in order to be introduced to the most varied of snow sport disciplines - 80 ski instructors are available for this.

Skischule Seefeld.

Wilhelm Völck started the Seefeld Ski School with only five instructors in 1921. Ski lifts had not yet been invented but he devised the parallel turn and made Seefeld world famous.

Large and vitreous: The glass facade of the Rosshütte 'gourmet palace' at the funicular's mountain station at 1,760 metres above the sea-level is clearly visible from as far away as Seefeld village centre. Nothing to spoil the views across the mountains.

You may find the Sonnen Alm at the summit of the Gschwandtkopf, to the right of the alighting point. The rustic dining room of the aptly named 'sunny hut' is a popular place to eat.
